A few days ago my sister Pip, who was over from Australia and I went for a ride with my friend Rachel. She has two beautiful clydesdale cross horses. They are incredibly full on and not the easiest rides at times ,but are lots of fun and safe. We also took another friends horse for a ride as well. I rode Annettes horse Chocolate. She was fun and we got to go on a bit of an adventure through town ......jumped park fences(like naughty kids) and rode through forest walkways then jumped back onto the streets. We also hooned along river banks and across the local marine park to the beach where our sedate canter turned into an all out gallop. Nothing like a beach hoon to blow the cobwebs out .
Back at home we are on Hokey Pokey mission ........yesterday was major brush .....a tie up session .......a lesson in getting over ones self!!!!!!. Hokey wasn't that keen on being tied up for longer than 5 minutes......happy to say mother won that battle and = one sulky horse, but stayed put

I am totally amazed at the horse bus (?) those two huge guys are tied to.
Poor Hokey...growing up is hard to do! (0:
WHat great fun to run on the beach! I wish!
Yes Nikker we do have nice beach rides ....as for the bus. It is actually a horse truck with living space in the front half. It is how most people get their horses around if they have the cash to buy one. The rest are simply like me with a horse trailer. Our roads aren't really suitable for the big gooseneck and pick up arrangements....even the trucks struggle. And yes Hokey just wants to be young forever
FV - yes the beach is such a good place for the soul .....nothing like it. You could always come for a NZ holiday. We love visitors!!
Oh...the header says it all... just Hokey there.
He's got to learn it..glad you are such a patient mum. Even mine can get frantic, and she knows better!
That horse you rode...reminded me of my mare with its neat blaze! Very awesome ride..j.umping park benches and all!
Nice that spring is coming on for you...we are in the last bits of Summ-Autumn..its been 75 for weeks and the leaves are shriveling and not turning colors. But- rains by tomorrow...we need em!
